Job Description

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Matric

  • LLB degree

  • Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa

  • Admitted Conveyancer

  • 3+ years' experience in a similar role / environment.

  • Sound working knowledge of Deeds Office procedures and requirements

  • Willingness to be trained and mentored within an established conveyancing practice

  • Valid driver's license essential; own vehicle advantageous

Responsibilities

  • Manage a conveyancing portfolio, including transfers, bonds and cancellations, from instruction to registration, with support from senior conveyancers where needed

  • Draft, check and finalise all conveyancing documentation for lodgement

  • Liaise directly with the Deeds Office in King William's Town on lodgements, queries and rejections

  • Liaise with clients, estate agents, banks and other conveyancers on transaction progress and requirements

  • Handle correspondent conveyancing instructions received from other parts of the country

  • Ensure all financial and statutory requirements have been met prior to lodgement and registration

  • Attend to sectional title, development and township sub-division transactions as required

  • Work closely with conveyancing secretaries and support staff in the King William's Town office

  • Ensure compliance with FICA, POPIA and other relevant legislation throughout the conveyancing process

  • Attend to any other duties reasonable and incidental to the practice of conveyancing as the firm's needs may require
