Aiming to make a tangible impact on our payroll operations, this role offers the opportunity to streamline wage processing and ensure compliance in a busy retail environment. Join a dedicated team where your attention to detail directly contributes to smooth payroll functioning and employee satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
Receive and verify time and attendance data from store managers, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Follow up with stores on missing, incomplete, or inconsistent information.
Capture approved time and attendance figures into the payroll system.
Process overtime in accordance with company policy and labour legislation.
Apply staff deductions correctly on employee pay slips.
Perform payroll reconciliations to identify and correct discrepancies.
Address payroll-related queries from store staff and management.
Investigate and resolve pay discrepancies, deduction queries, and overtime disputes in a timely manner.
Escalate complex issues to the Payroll Manager as needed.
Maintain accurate records of queries and resolutions for audit purposes.
Capture and submit OID information for Workmen's Compensation submissions.
Administer and submit monthly Provident Fund reports.
Control the authorisation of Provident Fund contributions upon staff leave or dismissal.
Handle UIF queries with the Department of Labour.
Capture and reconcile salary deductions prior to payment to suppliers.
Requirements:
Matric / Grade 12
Certificate / Diploma in Payroll Admin / Bookkeeping (advantageous)
2-5 years of payroll experience, specifically in wage processing and attendance tracking.
Knowledge of labour legislation related to payroll processing.
Experience with payroll systems and reconciliation processes.
Experience with large payroll head count and/or retail environment
