Job Description

  • Apply, develop and update HR Policies, Procedures, Protocols, Work Instructions, Codes of Practice, in accordance with company policies and local law, etc. as well as benchmark to global standards of Group
  • Ensure implementation and compliance of HR Policies and Procedures
  • Review/Update and maintain all employment contracts in line with local labour law
  • Facilitate external IR processes (CCMA, Labour Court, etc)
  • Monitor and advise on substantive conditions of employment and related rights and obligations
  • Monitor the IR climate and advise line management on appropriate actions
  • Represent management in consultations and discussions with stakeholders on matters that arise at plant leve
  • Ensures compliance to HR related regulations and company policies
  • Cooperates/negotiates with external stakeholders (e.g., for work permits or labour processes)
  • Co-ordinate and provide advice to all stakeholders on disciplinary proceedings
  • Facilitate the resolution of employee disputes, grievances and conflict
  • Leads negotiations between legal unit and labour unions
  • Implements and supports all managers on site with regards to HR topics in line with local employment acts & regulations.
  • Delivers and tracks HR KPIs
  • Responsible for Corporate communication activities and facilitation within local legal unit
  • Trains and embeds strategy and values in local culture
  • Supports people development within the organization
  • Implements and maintains Group standards for people development (performance management, succession management and talent management)
  • Oversee and support local Social Engagement programs in line with compliance regulations
  • Organize & maintain all local training needs according to Group Training
  • Improve and continuously drive development & champion Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment objectives with support from local management and KAD HO within the legal unit
  • Support and Oversee local employment equity, social and labour plans in line with local requirements by acting in support to KAD HO strategic plans
  • Drive interventions and action plans to support the implementation of the EE Strategy in accordance with KAD HO
  • Champion the implementation and ensure compliance to the EE strategy at plant level
  • Lead & oversee outsourced payroll, draw required reports and ensure compliance with Payroll guideline
  • Set up and effectively maintain and administer HR Information Systems (Success Factors (TouchPoint), VIP, Psiber, T&A, HR Intranet)
  • Time and Attendance Maintenance:
  • Verify effective management of the T&A system with the supervisors
  • Monitor and Report on Absenteeism and Leave using the time and attendance system and the payroll system

Minimum requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience
  • Experience in Manufacturing environment
  • Experience in working with integrated HR information systems (people development, succession management,)
  • Oversee and control elements of HR payroll system as deemed relevant in conjunction with plant Finance dept & service providers
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of Basic Conditions of Employment Act (Act 75 of 1997)
  • Labour Relations Act, with respective Collective Agreements and Bargaining Councils
