Job Description

Position description:

An established FMCG manufacturing company seeks to employ a Warehouse Manager for their Fort Jackson site. The role oversees a 3-shift system, and the successful candidate will need to have excellent staff management experience and problem-solving skills. Taking fully responsibility for the department is essential, reporting into the Site Manager.



Grade 12

Relevant completed tertiary in Logistics / Warehousing / Operations (essential)


- 5+ years relevant experience in FMCG / similar industry

- 2+ years management experience in FMCG / similar industry

- Hands-on staff management, including handling HR / IR issues essential

- Warehouse and Inventory management

- Health and Safety

Key Outputs:

- Continuous improvement principles

- Understanding of FMCG warehouse operations, procedures and regulations

- Knowledge of distribution function

- Understanding of supplier and replenishment requirements and processes

- Understanding Budgets

- Good numerical and verbal skills

- Coaching/people development

- Operational management


- Supervise a 3-shift system team, including 4 supervisors, 4 clerks and 9 loaders (per shift)

- Fully responsible for the product once out of production

- Receiving of orders / routes to load correct vehicles (± 50 routes)

- Ensure trucks are loaded correctly, check stock / crates

- Return vehicles – handle returned stock / crate check / paperwork

- Process recons – stock and crates

- Handle any issues / problems directly

Position specific requirements:

- Abnormal working hours, overseeing a 3-shift operation

- Required to be on standby for 24/7

- Required to work over weekends, public holidays as per operational requirements
