Job Description

Payroll Administration Skills

  • Calculating and Capturing of Hours on Timesheets
  • Liaising with Supervisors/Managers
  • Processing of Weekly and Monthly payrolls for +- 500 staff
  • Processing of wages on Sage 300 People (New Staff, Leave, Days worked, Overtime, Payroll batches, Deductions, Terminations etc.)
  • Preparation of payslips for distribution
  • Preparation of UI19’s and Certificates of Service
  • Co-ordinating and submission of IOD’s
  • Payroll Reporting
  • Payroll month end reconciliations
  • Reconciling and Preparing External payments for Maintenance, Funeral plans, Provident Funds etc.
  • EMP201 reconciliation and processing on E-filing
  • Training supervisors on payroll procedures and submissions
  • Preparing weekly requisitions for loans and subsistence allowances for approval and payment
  • Understanding of BCEA, LRA and COIDA acts and application of these provisions within the payroll


HR Administration

  • Understanding of BCEA and LRA and their application to disciplinary procedures and HR policies
  • Investigating disciplinary matters and preparation of warnings and counselling
  • Co-ordinating and preparation for Disciplinary hearings
  • Understanding of Training and Skills Development processes

Computer Skills


  • Ms Office – Most importantly MS Excel
  • Sage VIP / Sage 300 People
