Job Description

Formal prerequisites for the position

  • National Diploma/Degree in HR Management / Labour Relations Management
    Sound knowledge of labour legislation including the Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Labour Relations Act, Employment Equity Act, Skills Development Act
    Sound knowledge of Bargaining Council provisions
    Experience in disciplinary proceedings including counselling sessions, disciplinary hearings, appeal
    hearings
    Experience in representing the employer at Bargaining Council and CCMA proceedings
    Computer literacy in MS Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) at Intermediate level
    Excellent interpersonal skills
    Ability to handle stress
    Attention to detail
  • Tasks (Description of main tasks)
    Maintain sound employee relations
    Coordinate attendance improvement programmes and initiatives
    Conduct regular communication with workforce representatives Represent the company at Bargaining Council meetings
    Represent the company at Employer Association meetings
    Provide guidance to supervision to ensure that discipline and counselling is handled fairly and in
    accordance with prevailing labour legislation
    Represent the company at Bargaining Council and CCMA proceedings
    Coordinate Employment Equity meetings and initiatives
    Complete Employment Equity reports
    Facilitate recruitment processes
    Assist HR Manager in daily functions as required
